Falcon Rising: tempting cherry and deadly bitter almond, richest vanilla with hints of smooth milk chocolate, charred woods

from 8.50

Inspired by Anne Boleyn

Notes: tempting cherry and deadly bitter almond, richest vanilla with hints of smooth milk chocolate, charred woods

Anne Boleyn’s tempestuous relationship with Henry VIII gave us one of the greatest queens in history, Elizabeth I. The passion that tempted Henry to upturn centuries of religious tradition and divorce his wife of decades turned to bitter hatred in only three years. Anne’s rise and descent are as fascinating as the lady herself. Her wit and sophistication, polished at the French court, were part of her appeal, as was the fiery personality that helped lead to her downfall.

Anne’s brilliant personality and personal charms famously kept Henry chasing her until he grew obsessed enough to marry. After her fall from favor, her enemies painted her as an evil scheming witch (with an extra finger!), but we’ve all heard that story too many times to count and there’s no doubt that Anne was a victim of her time. Her story brings home the sad but poetic truth that our greatest strengths are also our greatest weakness.

The scent of deadly bitter almond and tempting cherries share much in common, the perfect metaphor for the irresistible but poisonous relationship between Anne and Henry.  We’ve added a new accord that highlights the sumptuous vanilla bean and hints of richest milk chocolate, and finished with woods charred by the heat of a passion that burned bright and fast, leaving destruction in the end.
